Reaper Awards 2009 will be presented October 13 in the Blossom Room at the hauntingly historic Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel.

ABOUT VENUE
Since it opened its doors in 1927, the hotel has been an iconic landmark for the entertainment industry. The first Academy Awards ceremony was held in the very same Blossom Room May 16, 1929. However, the venue was chosen not only for its historical significance, but also for its reputation of alleged celebrity haunting.
HAUNTED HISTORY
Actress Marilyn Monroe was a resident of the hotel for several months, and a mirror, which once hung in her room and is now in the hotel lobby, is reportedly haunted by her spirit. Some people have claimed to see her ghost dancing in the ballroom as well.
Actor Montgomery Clift also briefly resided at the hotel and is rumored to haunt his room on the 9th floor where guests have claimed to see his ghost roaming the halls practicing his lines and playing his bugle.
GRIMMY AWARD
Reaper Award or “Grimmy” winners will receive handcrafted Grim Reaper statuettes designed and sculpted by Joe Sena, president of SphereWerx LLC, parent company of the FearWerx horror and EMCE Toy brands. The statuettes are cast by Paul Clarke of EMCE Toys and handpainted and assembled by Sena.
