Independent filmmaker-producer Corman has produced more than 350 films and directed 50 others. His influence goes beyond his creative low-budget movies and is arguably one of the most gifted and masterful filmmakers. Noted for his keen ability to spot young talent, Corman’s most lasting legacy will be the legion of talent he has fostered, among them: Jack Nicholson, Francis Ford Coppola, Robert De Niro, Martin Scorsese, James Cameron, Ron Howard, Peter Fonda and Peter Bogdanovich. In 1983 Corman founded New Horizons Pictures, an independent production and distribution company, specializing in cutting-edge, modestly budgeted genre films, with a library of more than 400 titles and a steady line being produced. Corman is currently working with Shout! Factory on the ongoing Roger Corman’s Cult Classics home entertainment series.

In 2001 Raffel launched the independent horror review website MonstersAtPlay.com. Starting out as a small-scale experiment, Monsters at Play blossomed into a thriving online horror community. In August 2006, Raffel left Monsters at Play to help launch the horror channel FEARnet, where he still resides as FEARnet.com’s editor. A lifelong fan of horror films, some of Raffel’s favorite genre directors include Dario Argento, Mario Bava, Jean Rollin and David Cronenberg.

Turek is the managing editor of ShockTillYouDrop.com, one of the leading horror news sites on the Web. An East Coast native, he moved to Los Angeles in 1999 and worked on various horror productions before moving into the field of journalism, where he contributed to CHUD.com’s genre outlet Creature-Corner.com and, later, Creative Screenwriting, Fangoria and Rue Morgue.
